SILIGURI

  1. Siliguri is situated at the base of the Himalaya Mountains. It connects the hill station towns of Gangtok, Rangpo, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirik, Pelling, Rinchenpong, Dooars, Darjeeling even Bhutan, Nepal are well connected.

    This town has basically three seasons’ summer, winter and monsoon. The summer temperatures rarely exceed 35°C. It is considerably cooler than the southern and central regions of West Bengal. During this season, tourists from all over the world visit to nearby hill stations. Winters are relatively cool and temperatures range from a high of 15°C to - 3°C. The climate is suitable for growing tea. Baikunthapur, Jaldapara, Hollong, Chapramari and other wild life centers are nearby. It is one of the centers for north east India. It’s an industrial, economical and trading hub. Well linked up with all the north eastern states of India and well linked up with the neighboring countries. Connectivity by road to neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh is regular. There are three railway station and one major airport. Siliguri Town station is the oldest station operative from 23 August, 1880 during the British period. An interesting fact is that the Siliguri junction station being the only station in India with tracks of all the three gauges used in India. Traders, Tourist, trekkers always prefer Siliguri to be the originating station due to its advantageous location. With more than hundred hotels, ten national park / sanctuary over fifty destinations and link to whole of north east India, Siliguri is the hub of all activities of north east India.

    Tea Estate - "Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf." said Rabindranath Tagore. More than a 100 tea Estate spread over the region. Tea Gardens start from Islampur to Guwahati, a stretch of nearly 800 kilometers. Tourism & Tea are the main source of income.

    These lush green tea estates with rivers and roads crossing in between makes it a perfect setting for shoot. Tea gardens / estates are perfect place for a quiet and rejuvenating holiday with its mild and temperate climate throughout the year. The location of these tea gardens is appealing. They are either situated on the slopes or in the plains parallel to the roads. Darjeeling is famous internationally for its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Darjeeling Himalayan railway a UNESCO World heritage site and its route are through the tea estate and the slopes of the mountains. The tea plantations date back to the mid 19th century. The combination is sheer pleasure i.e. the train passing through the tea estate. Scenic beauty is seen to be believed. The tea gardens are by it self are brilliant settings with British bungalows and the Himalaya in the background. It is generally covered with mist / fog most of the time in the hill tea estate. In the plains the scene is diametrically opposite. Bright sunshine stretches of lush green bushes, huge shade trees and with winding road through it. Some of the tea estates used for film shooting are the following. The Tea estates are close to Siliguri and the drives are short. Arrangement for stay and shoot are easily organized by us. These gardens has basic infrastructure of such shooting set up and are quite hassle free atmosphere.
