LOCAL PERMITS & PERMISSIONS

  1. The region being sensitive due to international borders with Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China, hence there are places and destinations restricted to Indian and Foreign nationals. Generally two permits are required namely, Inner Line Permit (ILP) & Protected Area Permit (PAP) and is generally arranged by Team Cine solutions. As per guidelines of India nationals of Pakistan, Bangladesh, China and Myanmar can be given inner line permits subjected to approval from the ministry of Home Affairs. Bhutan nationals are exempted from the requirement of ILPs. Permits to foreign diplomats and members of United Nations and International Organizations holding diplomatic / official passports are issued at Delhi by the Ministry of External Affairs. Fee of US$30 is levied for issue of inner line permits. This is in addition to visa fees that would have been paid.

    WHEREAS, the Forest Environment & Wildlife Management Department fixes the rates of royalty on different categories of timber and other forest produce levied from persons consuming them for different purposes.
    AND WHEREAS. there is increase in the rates of all commodities during the past few years and since the Government is trying to raise more resources, it is felt necessary to increase the royalty rates on all categories of timbers/trees and other forest produce like sand. stone etc. Most of the revenue is realized from sand and stones and there is not much scope to increase the number oflocations for collection of sand and stones.
    AND WHEREAS, The royalty rates were last revised in the year 2006 when the minimum wage rate was Rs.85100 which has been revised twice after that in 2008 and in 2010 to Rs. [00100 and Rs. 130.00 respectively The increase in the minimum wage rate in 2010 as compared to 2006 is about 53% The pay and allowances of the employees have also increased considerably,
    NOW THEREFORE, to mobilize additional resources the royalty rates of all forest produce available within the State, the import fee of the forest produce brought from outside and all other fees to be levied by Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Department have been enhanced by minimum of 30% over the existing rates and the enhanced rates are fixed as under with immediate effect.
